Our team "Aces Wild" is captained by Mario Guadamud.  Our record through the regular 3.0 league, the league playoffs, the state tournament and southern section tournament is 21-0.  We will be traveling to Tucson, AZ on Oct 3, 2008 for the national tournament.  16 other sectional champions will be participating in the tournament. "Going to USTA Nationals is something that seems like such a remote possibility at the beginning of each season.  We all know that only one team from the section gets to go, though. It is very special to us that we are the one team who gets to make the trip this year.  We will do our best to continue to make BR proud!!"
We are hoping to have a raffle and a couple of jambalaya sales at Highland park on Saturdays to raise funds to defray some of the costs of the trip to Tucson. We are asking the HPTA membership to please support our cause and come to the park hungry on the days that we announce that we will be serving the jambalaya plates. And taking a few plates to go will help, too.
